{"id":3915,"date":"2024-10-16T06:32:25","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T11:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wa2bsw.com\/?p=3915"},"modified":"2024-10-16T06:56:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T11:56:22","slug":"software-used-for-olivia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wa2bsw.com\/?p=3915","title":{"rendered":"Software used for Olivia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Note:\u00a0 I have the utmost respect for those hams who write the software I am using and offer it to the Amateur Radio community.\u00a0 I would not know where to begin to write such great applications.\u00a0 Any comments made in my post are not meant to take anything away from this fact.<\/p>\n<p>My logging program and limited radio control is DXlab.\u00a0 Therefore, it is always preferable that any other applications used interface with the modules of DXlab.\u00a0 Since the digital component of DXlab (WinWarbler) does not support most digital modes, other applications are required to operate those modes.\u00a0 For example, when operating FT8\/4 (not my favorite) using WSJT-X with JTAerts is flawless.\u00a0 When it comes to Olivia, I started out with FLDIGI.\u00a0 To try and have it talk to DXLab I used the published gateway between the two applications.\u00a0 Not having the best of luck with that combination I moved on to MULTIPSK, the program I am currently using.\u00a0 This application talks well with DXLab, but at times I struggle with the user interface.\u00a0 I will not go into my issues in this post as I am too new to the application and still learning.\u00a0 I will save that for future posts.\u00a0 I will say that MUULTIPK is a fine program and can do a lot of stuff very well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note:\u00a0 I have the utmost respect for those hams who write the software I am using and offer it to the Amateur Radio community.\u00a0 I would not know where to begin to write such great applications.\u00a0 Any comments made in my post are not meant to take anything away from this fact.
